Job Description
In a childcare education program for children, the Child Care Specialist is responsible for co-planning and conducting developmentally appropriate curricula and child evaluations, as well as maintaining a safe and caring atmosphere. Student personnel, work study students, student interns, and student instructors may be supervised (as needed) by the Child Care Specialist. This job is also responsible for planning and leading parent/teacher conferences.

Qualifications:
- By delivering training, answering questions, and providing child care-related materials, provides technical help to facility owners.
- Recommends to the State whether new applications for child care providers should be approved or denied, as well as if present registration should be revoked.
- The child care provider is informed and educated about issues that need corrective action, a plan for suitable corrective action is developed, and a schedule for corrective action is established.
- Create an atmosphere that fosters self-confidence, trust, and respect for others in order to encourage them to grow and develop their potential.
- Ensure that you have the required flexibility to satisfy the need for health and safety monitoring visits on weekends and at night, if necessary.
- You’ll need to work with the division and the IT department to keep track of child care registration data.
- Investigators work with social care workers to record any claims of abuse, neglect, or misconduct.
- To maintain compliance with child care rules, little engagement is required with owners, administrators, boards, and child care providers in a specific geographic region.
- As part of the center’s educational philosophy and the involvement of other staff members, plan learning activities that are suitable for different student groups based on their age range and other characteristics.
- There are inspections and assessments carried out to verify that child care facilities fulfil all relevant state and federal rules.
Skills:
- Extreme inter-personal, organizational and communication skills are required.
- Reading, evaluating, and comprehending general business periodicals as well as technical processes and regulatory requirements, among other things, are required skills for success in this sector of work.
- Working with low-income families and/or child care subsidies is preferable, as is knowledge of the Child Care Resource and Referral Service or child care programs.
- A successful communication skillset that includes the ability to effectively explain information to groups of managers, clients, board of directors, and the general public while also responding to questions
- A Master’s Degree or the equivalent of 36 hours of post-baccalaureate academic work is required. Four years of experience in education administration or teaching, or a close affiliation with either.
