Job Description
In close coordination with the Directors of Credit and Risk, the Credit Manager oversees the monitoring of credit risk, the research of new customers, and the collection activities across many industries. One of the primary goals of this department going forward is to improve overall credit and collections workflow efficiency through the use of data analysis and reporting systems.

Qualifications:
- Control the efforts of the credit team’s collection agents. Investigate, record, and resolve any outstanding problems or balances. Put an end to escalating collection troubles. Whenever necessary, interface with the customer and the sales team to help with collections.
- being in charge of establishing and administering all policies and procedures pertaining to credit and debt collection. The department handles the onboarding process, credit checks, and collections.
- A thorough examination of the accounts receivable aging reports on a regular basis will help pinpoint the clients that need to be contacted again.
- Build lasting connections with your clients and keep the lines of communication open with them and your team open via phone and email.
- Keep track of the filing of liens and lien releases, and seek legal advice as needed.
- The credit division should always seek out novel approaches of automating, streamlining, and eliminating activities in order to improve procedures and reduce costs. Management by exception techniques are used for this purpose.
- Create reporting and analytics for top management to track trends, activities related to collection, and risk. Report on the accounts with the highest risk, along with suggestions for improvement.
- Check to see if your company’s accounts receivable amounts are reasonable given the state of the company and the economy.
- Resolving issues with collections and/or deductions that are particularly difficult may necessitate consulting with management and the relevant employees.
- Establish and maintain contact with related businesses and organizations, such as legal counsel, debt collection firms, credit reporting agencies, and other credit-related entities.
Skills:
- Good management skills, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to negotiate, communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and with remote employees, and a knack for customer service are all must-haves.
- Strong problem solving and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- Three or more years of experience in progressively responsible financial and credit leadership roles in the manufacturing, construction, or petroleum industries is preferred.
- Integrity and dependability of the highest order, coupled with a strong sense of urgency and focus on results.
- Reading, analyzing, and interpreting skills for business publications, trade journals, news, financial reports, and legal papers.
