Qualifications:

  • Understands various payers’ reimbursements and efficiently allocates therapeutic resources in accordance with resident goals and outcomes connected to discharge destination.
  • Patients should be given information and training to assist them reduce their reliance on medications and avoid surgery.
  • When it comes to mobility and health, restore, maintain, and encourage not just good physical function, but also ideal wellness, fitness, and quality of life.
  • Instructs, stimulates, and aids the patient with non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and the use of assistive and supportive equipment including crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Implement a Care Plan, hold patients responsible for adhering to it, and alter the timetable and plan as needed based on the patient’s progress.
  • Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations in line with state and APTA standards of practice.
  • By preventing the onset, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities caused by diseases, disorders, ailments, or injuries.
  • As needed, advise and communicate with the client’s family and/or other caregivers to improve the client’s progress toward mutually agreed-upon goals and a discharge plan.
  • Tests a patient’s strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capability, respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and keeps track of the results to build or amend treatment programs.
  • Consults with physicians and other practitioners to gather additional patient information, modify treatment plans, and incorporate physical therapy into the patient’s overall health care.

Skills:

  • An APTA-accredited physical therapy degree is required.
  • The ideal candidate will possess both a strong sense of leadership and a strong desire to learn and develop.
  • Experience in a rehabilitation, Orthopedics, or medical/surgical setting that demonstrates achievement of the requisite job knowledge, skills, and abilities is sought.
  • Experience working in a skilled nursing facility, hospital, or inpatient/outpatient setting for at least one year is required.
  • Empathy, compassion, and the ability to encourage patients to push their limits in a responsible, safe, and successful manner are all important qualities.
