Job Description
The Office of Research Communications’ visual direction will be managed by the multimedia designer, who will also supervise and carry out the office’s requirements for digital, graphic, print, photography, and motion graphics. This person will be in charge of designing, planning, creating, editing, delivering, and managing multimedia projects. They will interact with vendors and supervise their work, and they will manage large-scale initiatives involving partners from all across the university. This person must be able to consistently generate or execute neat, polished, professional designs and layouts that support the university’s research achievements, collaborations, and the impact that results on people, our country, and our globe, while adhering to the brand and identity.

Qualifications:
- Create final designs after evaluating them and receiving input from others.
- Create initial designs, concept sketches, models, and prototypes using a variety of methods.
- Provide updates on the project’s progress and check that it is completed on time, within budget, and according to business standards.
- Add and animate products in 2D and 3D environments by using 3D modeling tools like KeyShot.
- Prepare print files in collaboration with the sales and production teams for daily orders of personalized graphics; keep production rates high while upholding accuracy and quality standards and meeting or exceeding deadlines for production.
- Create branding materials such logos, banners, social media campaigns, advertising campaigns, brand systems, edited short and long-form video, illustrations, and animated visuals/graphics.
- Create and find new ways of presenting information that either enable improved accuracy, simplicity of template usage, or clearer communication while preserving a polished aesthetic style. This can be accomplished by developing and discovering new approaches.
- Recognize the project’s guiding ideas and requirements, take part in the work, and ask questions if you don’t fully grasp something.
- Manage the creation of advertising materials from start to finish.
- Working collaboratively with the Marketing team, you will develop brand-consistent marketing communications materials. Among these may be promotional handouts, flyers, advertisements, banner ads, product packaging, user guides, presentations, email and social media campaigns, website product pages, landing pages, and promotional materials for trade shows.
Skills:
- Advanced aesthetic sense and graphic design skills; proficiency in photography and cinematography is a plus.
- the capacity to contribute to a cohesive team in a work setting.
- Current working knowledge of Adobe design software is required, specifically Premiere/Affect Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Creative Cloud.
