Full-Time Senior Planner – Al-ʿĀmiriyyah
Job Description
This person is in charge of city planning, which means he or she has to look at, organize, and conduct complex planning studies that make sure that City Codes and ordinances are obeyed. They also have to make sure that planning site plan conditions and restrictions are met, and that Zoning Ordinance permits are given out. Employees in this group do administrative work at a higher level than normal. They are supervisors and professionals. In this job, you’ll be in charge of directing, implementing, and enforcing the City and County’s Zoning Code and rules. Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications:
- Acquisition, completion examination, and processing of development applications, which may include site plans, subdivision requests, conditional use permits, and other land development proposals; ensuring that applications are in compliance with the Urban Development Code and Comprehensive Plan; coordinating with other departments as needed.
- It’s their responsibility to devise methods for obtaining and analyzing data on how land usage impacts the economic, social, and physical features of the place.. Graphs and narrative reports based on data are also produced by this firm.
- Whenever there is a large amount of data and extensive investigation and comparison, this individual may assist with goal setting, goal improvement, and goal modification.
- Lead the design and implementation of community and stakeholder engagement programs.
- Create a daily delivery plan that includes the use of equipment, manpower, and other resources to make sure the business runs smoothly and meets customer needs.
- Recommendation/implementation of any adjustments to the City’s zoning plan review process and the city’s urban planning programme (i.e amendments to the plans, site plans, drawings, and reports, etc).
- Office supplies, software, and processes that are commonplace in today’s business workplaces.
- This person prepares materials for public hearings, board presentations, and other public events. The general public, as well as city councils, planning commissions, and architectural design review boards, get information about upcoming construction projects.
- Communicate complex information to internal departments and programmers in a clear and accurate manner, both verbally and in writing.
- Planning, writing, editing, and processing of chapters and changes to the Comprehensive Plan as well as other tasks related to the design and maintenance of this plan.

- Urban planning and site design; housing and revitalization; parks and open space; volunteerism; public transportation; preservation of natural and cultural resources; population growth; telecommunications and economic development; and the legal foundation and techniques used to formulate land use regulations are all covered in this comprehensive course.
- Ability to handle issues and make sound judgments; thinks swiftly and logically; maintains cool in stressful circumstances
- Willingness and ability to rapidly grasp local zoning laws, regulations, and ordinances are both necessary qualifications for this position.
- The ability to apply concepts and methods of urban planning and redevelopment at the highest level of professionalism, as well as hands-on experience in doing so
- An undergraduate degree in urban planning, environmental planning, regional planning, or urban design as well as a minimum of six (6) years of professional experience in a municipal planning and zoning function, with a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory capacity, is required. A bachelor’s degree is also required.
