Qualifications:
- In the absence of the Head Chef or Sous Chef, bears leadership responsibility for maintaining safe and efficient kitchen operations.
- The Cook must be careful, well-dressed, professional, and a good team player.
- Ensures that all kitchen spaces, such as storage shelves, corridors, work surfaces, walk-ins, refrigerators, and coolers, are kept organized and clean.
- Use the Executive Chef’s recipes to create high-quality hot and cold foods.
- Provides for the demands of the firm by meeting schedule requirements, which include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A cook is in charge of setting up, food preparation, organization, sanitation, and the manufacturing of food and beverage items, as well as shutting and storing individual work stations.
- Assist with cleaning equipment and dishwashing machines as needed to keep the kitchen, tools, and utensils clean.
- Lifting up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds, carrying up to 30 pounds, and standing and walking frequently are all necessary.
- Make monthly and annual cash flow forecasts, as well as short and long-term cash management plans.
- To accurately plan production requirements and procure supplies and equipment, tastes foods, analyses menus, estimates food requirements, evaluates output, and keeps records.
Skills:
- Ability to prioritize projects and collaborate with a variety of supervisors.
- Must adhere to all state and executive chef-issued health department and food safety requirements, including HACCP and ServSafe concepts.
- You must have worked as a Cook in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen for at least one year.
- A high school diploma, a GED, or an equivalent is required.
- If you are 18 years of age or older, you must be able to pass a background check as required by Company policy, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, former job, education, and personal references, unless federal, state, or provincial legislation prohibits it.
